What is the Jewish Caring Network?

The Jewish Caring Network is a non-profit organization of volunteers, dedicated to providing a full range of services to families facing life-threatening or serious illness while preserving their privacy and dignity. The Jewish Caring Network not only offers initial assistance when the diagnosis is first made, but also stays with the families throughout the duration of the illness.

How did the Jewish Caring Network get started?

The Jewish Caring Network was formed when our friend, Yarden, was diagnosed with cancer. It was hard to believe that a man so young, with a beautiful family, was facing the end of his life! Immediately, the community sprang into action, sending meals and raising funds to help his family through the difficult time. As a result of the overwhelming display of concern, the need to harness these resources for other families facing similar situations was realized. Gevuras Yarden, the "strength of Yarden", was established so that every time we do a mitzvah, it is in Yarden's merit. We recently changed our name to better clarify our purpose to the public.

Who are some of the people who have benefited from the Jewish Caring Network?

What does the Jewish Caring Network do?

The needs of a family in crisis are always changing. We do our best to keep on top of these needs by advocating for and supplying these and other services where needed.

How is the Jewish Caring Network run?

The Jewish Caring Network is a completely volunteer-based organization. We are available to any Jewish family, regardless of affiliation or level of observance. Funding is provided by donations and fundraising events, and every cent is used to maintain our services. In addition, the Jewish Caring Network works closely with other community-based organizations to provide an even wider range of family services.

Does it really make a difference?

Response from the people we have helped has been overwhelming:
